HOW IT STARTED

We are a Texas based, woman owned business founded by our Principal Designer, – exceptionally creative and classically trained watercolor artist, interior/kitchen & bath designer with architectural background and Master’s Degree in Architectural Design.

We were inspired to start our company few years ago, when we were shopping for a new set of dishes for daily use, and couldn’t find any pattern we liked. The everyday dinnerware sets we saw in stores or online were not exciting. Not only that, on numerous occasions we noticed other shoppers in the stores who would scan the dinnerware displays and leave without buying anything. At that point we realized that we could change this situation by creating a new brand of dinnerware for everyday use.

We started our dinnerware project with a pad of watercolor paper and a brush, driven by the vision of creating a happy and colorful dinnerware that would bring beauty and joy into everyday life. Our dream and the big picture is to bring the excitement, colors and life back to the dinnerware departments of the stores!.. We would like the dinnerware shoppers to like what they see and buy what they like!..

PREPARATION STAGE / BEHIND THE SCENE

After several years of hard work behind the scene raising this project off the ground, we already put together all components of the production and logistics.

PATTERNS: All our patterns are based on our original watercolors hand painted in our own unique artistic style. We created an entire portfolio of our future designs and copyrighted all of our designs.

PIGMENTS: We’ve found a reliable company in Europe that has the non-toxic pigments needed to make our colorful dinnerware.

DINNERWARE: Determined to maintain the highest standards of quality and safety for our product, we’ve rejected numerous offers to make our dinnerware from notoriously cheap manufacturing sources. We’ve finally found an established bone china manufacturer in India that offered the shapes, sizes and quality we required.

DECALS: After a long search, we found a silk screen printing company capable of reproducing the elaborate color transitions of our artworks with the safe ceramic pigments we selected. We’ve finalized the decal images for our six patterns planned to go into release first, as well as prepared the drawings and specifications for decal placement for our manufacturer.

Work in progress: paper mockup for our Midnight Iris pattern. NOTE: not actual colors, low printing quality images used only for the purpose of determining the decal dimensions and placements, and creating specifications for our manufacturer.

PRODUCTION SAMPLES: We ordered, received, and approved actual production samples of our plates made by our manufacturer. We sent our production samples to the ANSECO Group, an independent laboratory, which confirmed that our dinnerware easily met the FDA and CA Prop 65 standards.

SAFE SHIPPING: In our search for acceptable packaging that would keep our dinnerware safe in transit, we’ve created our own 100% recyclable packaging that was granted two US Patents and passed the International Safe Transit Association test.

FIELD TESTING: We’ve been using our production samples in our own household for quite a while, and they still look like new.
